One of the most respected names in the local automotive industry will mark six decades of tireless commitment, innovation, and passion in partnership with August’s Ulster Rally.

For the fifth consecutive year, family-owned Modern Tyres is the headline sponsor of the closed-road event, which will be taking place on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th August.

To celebrate its continued support and diamond anniversary milestone, Modern Tyres will be rolling out a special edition of rosette-inspired bonnet decal that will adorn each competing car at next month’s event. These elegant decals will glint in the summer sun – and serve as a suitable tribute to the family-owned company’s journey and successes.

“We are thrilled to be able to mark this special occasion in such a unique way,” said Rory Byrne, Director, Modern Tyres. “The 60th anniversary decals are a fitting symbol of the lasting legacy of Modern Tyres in local motoring – and motorsport circles.

“Reaching this big milestone is a testament to our incredible team and the loyalty of our customers over the years. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we are more excited than ever for the future of Modern Tyres and its continued role supporting the Ulster Rally.”

Founded in 1965, Modern Tyres started as a humble operation with a clear mission: to provide quality tyres and exceptional service to Northern Ireland’s motoring community. It’s now grown to become a leader in its sector, with franchises also operating in Ireland.

Since coming on board as the main sponsor of the Ulster Rally, a number of unforgettable scenes have been witnessed at the Northern Ireland Motor Club showpiece, including a first victory on Irish soil in 2023 for World Rally Championship driver Adrien Fourmaux, and Matt Edwards getting his hands on a third consecutive British crown two years earlier.

Next month, record crowds are expected to line the competitive route to see if County Derry-Londonderry driver Callum Devine can move another step closer to reclaiming the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship trophy for a second time alongside Noel O’Sullivan.

“In addition to its legacy, Modern Tyres is also the home of the rally, with its state-of-the-art facilities in Newry now serving as the beating heart of the event,” said the Ulster Rally Clerk of the Course, Wayne Turkington. “Its investment in cutting-edge technology and infrastructure ensures the rally remains one of the premier motorsport events locally.

“Combined with the tireless work of the Modern Tyres team, this highlights the company’s commitment to excellence in every aspect of the rally experience,” added Turkington.
