The Modern Tyres Ulster Rally is delighted to welcome Girls on Track UK to Northern Ireland for a special hub event taking place on Friday 7 August 2026 at Ballymena Showgrounds, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience one of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious motorsport events from the inside.
As part of the internationally recognised FIA Girls on Track initiative, the event aims to inspire and encourage more girls and young women to explore the many exciting opportunities available within motorsport, both on and off the track.
Participants will enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at the Modern Tyres Ulster Rally, gaining access to areas of the event not normally available to the public. The itinerary includes a guided visit to scrutineering, where rally cars undergo vital safety and technical checks, as well as a Service Park tour providing a closer look at the teams, drivers and machinery preparing to compete across the two days.
The day will also offer valuable networking opportunities with fellow motorsport enthusiasts and industry representatives before attendees take their seats in the grandstand to witness the official start of the rally as crews set off to tackle some of Northern Ireland’s most challenging and exciting stages.
The Modern Tyres Ulster Rally is one of the Island of Ireland’s leading motorsport events, attracting top rally competitors from across Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe – with the rally in 2026 hosting the FIA European Historic Rally Championship and legendary Irish Tarmac Rally Championship. The rally’s return to Ballymena will place the town at the heart of two days of thrilling competition and motorsport celebration.
“The Modern Tyres Ulster Rally is proud to partner with Girls on Track UK to provide an exciting and inspiring introduction to the world of motorsport,” enthused Grace King, Girls on Track Northern Ireland Co-ordinator. “Rallying offers opportunities across engineering, media, event management, officiating, driving and many other disciplines, and we are delighted to help showcase those opportunities and bring the next generation together. We look forward to welcoming participants to Ballymena for what hopefully promises to be a memorable and engaging experience.”
The Girls on Track event on Friday 7 August 2026 is completely free to attend, and those interested should confirm their attendance by Friday 4 July 2026 by emailing Jenny.Fletcher@motorsportuk.org.
