Three times British Historic Champion David Stokes has confirmed his intentions to make himself a four-time champion. Stokes last won the title in 2011 and is as hungry as ever to claim a fourth title.

Last year saw two unfortunate retirements; mechanical issues on the McRae and driver error on the Jim Clark ultimately cost him his chance to challenge to be champion on the final rounds.

And he can’t wait to get going in the iconic Draycott Bakery livered MK1. “We’re excited for 2014, we’re looking forward to it immensely. There are a few new events for 2014, I’ve not done the Scottish before as an event, but I have driven some of the stages that they could potentially give us”

And David has already been doing his homework on what promises to be a challenging new addition for the crews “Looking at the in car footage from others, the stages will be quite narrow and technical, but that excites me”

But it is another event that has really wet his appetite for 2014 “The Manx is a magical event, a real gem for motorsports, if I could only do one event a year it would be the Manx, that’s how much I love it.”

The BHRC launch day is on Saturday the 11th of January at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon.
