The whole of the Modern Tyres Ulster Rally team are heartbroken to hear the news that co-driver Dai Roberts has sadly passed away.
Dai was a much-loved member of the rallying community — calm, committed, and endlessly professional. He competed on the Ulster Rally nine times and was a familiar face to so many of us.
His talent spoke for itself: a Junior BRC win in 2018 with Steve Røkland, three class podiums, and three Top 10 finishes here in Ulster. And in 2011, he helped guide Jonny Greer to a superb third place in the British Rally Championship.
More than the results, though, it’s the person we’ll miss — kind and always ready with a quiet word of encouragement.
We’re thinking of Dai’s family, friends, and all who knew him. He’ll be missed by us all.
